This is true! When I first started working in engineering, I worked for a
conveyor company and did a lot of sheet metal design work working with
anywhere from 16 ga to 1/4 inch sheet. We had a book (proprietary) given to
us which provided the factors to use depending on what material and
thickness was being used for any particular project.
