Servo motors get to be very expensive - Add the cost of power supplies, servo
amps, and suitable computer interface card, �1000 and up.
The corresponding budget using stepper motors can be as low as �100 depending
on the size of the machine you are controlling. http://www.magenta2000.co.uk
has some small steppers. I have the MD24 that I used on a small HMC/Lathe with
3:1 belt drive. Now that I have some Gecko drives, I'll be using them on
another project (the compucut stuff is now surplus).
