Take a look at :-

This is a guard I made for my 4th axis. Its three pieces of 3/16"
alloy sheet bent around and welded to a flat front cover. The welds
have been cleaned up to give a radiused edge.
The front cover was a piece of alloy plate I've had kicking around
for a while. It was a test exercise from when I bought a copy of
Millwrite.
