And don't forget that a 3:1 reduction also potentially improves the
resolution (accuracy) threefold. This may not be strictly true, of course,
as inaccuracies in the drive belt may have a deleterious effect but this is
likely to be minimal where several belt teeth touch the pulleys at once.
