Hi Fitch - sure glad you decided to show up over here, as you have been
a really valuable presence on rec.crafts.metalworking!
think there would be seriuos complaints to using the metalworking.com
dropbox. However it would be preferably not to as the list has its
own files area at yahoogroups.com (which also has the archives).
Apparently you can now get at the files without logging in, but to
upload one you would have to log in.
As for your actual question, I don't know anything about your machine,
but it sounds like its design heritage is perhaps from manual iron, or
it would be inclosed like more recent machining centers. We have an
Ez-Trak bridgport at work which basically sits in a large chip pan,
which has a screened coolant sump. Can't really say how it works with
coolant though as we tend to run without it. It sure doesn't save
having to vacum up chips from the floor for several feet in every
direction after use though!
