Yes, this stopped the random jumping, and when we received the motor and
drives back from you they worked great with the motor and encoder wires
around 2 ft long. When we went to about 10 feet, we started really having
problems again, and systematically narrowed it down to what I just described
to Tim and the first note.
However, I am not having any faults now, and I love those gecko servo
drives. The only time they fault now (I have not tested them exhaustively)
is when I drive them faster than my power supply can move the motor to keep
up. The motion is so smooth compared to steppers, that I never want to go
back, if there is any way I can avoid doing so.
