When I was trying to get linux running someone on this list mentioned a
three button mouse is advantageous. I have found this to be true.
Just something to keep in mind if you get a new mouse, they are only
ten or fifteen dollars.

I, being paranoid, have also installed linux to boot to a text screen
and not into X-windows. This allows the system to boot and let me
"try" to fix things in text mode rather than just failing to start X.
