There is a config program that allows you to reconfigure the mouse.
It is mouseconfig, and you can get help on it with man mouseconfig.
You need to figure out which com port (or PS/2 port) has the mouse
on it, and what protocol the mouse supports. it has some menus
of possible combinations. Then, you can try them and see if a
particular combo works. Note that fancy 'Windows enhanced'
mice and other things may not work as well. If it is USB, you have to
do some special stuff to make it work. Also, the BIOS setup can
prevent the mouse from working.
