I have just been looking thru McMasters catalog, I found a good price on a
rolled ballscrew, but its 13/64 pitch.
Does the pitch matter much when your doing cnc on EMC? I would think you
would just tell it how much it moves per step or something and it would
convert that needed movement to x steps. It a lot harder for a human to a
.875 move at 13/64 per turn.
I also wonder if the BDI of EMC allows for dual boothing on a PC with
Windows on it already.
And lastly, why does it seem if you find 2 parts of a screw assembly cheap
the last one will always cost more that the 1st 2 combined? IE cheap ball
screw, cheap ball nut, mount $300.
Thanks I am picking up a lot from this list. I have my Enco $69 xy table. It
needs work. Turn the handle clockwise an inch, the counter clockwise it
takes 0.030 to 0.040 before the table moves again. Its why I am looking in
ball screws and or acme lead screws.
Budget? I don't need no stinking budget.....
