David;
I'm told the 13/64 pitch is a misprint and that the 5/8" ballscrew is really
the standard .200 pitch that Thomson and Rockford sell.
If you want preload I would suggest contacting Rockford Ballscrew. Their
preloaded 5/8" nut is about $170 and it comes with the flange and wipers.
Buying two nuts, flange and wipers separately will set you back about the
same amount and you will still have to cobble up a preload mechanism.
The bearing end supports are a ripoff - much like buying ten foot sections
of rain gutter for $2.79 then having to pay $4.79 for the connectors. They
are easy to make using tapered roller bearings. Cheap wheel bearings from a
parts house work fine. The axial error will be significantly less than the
drunkenness of the rolled screws anyway.
An alternative to ballscrews is to use good acme screws and cast the nuts
using Moglice or some home brew imitation. If you are going to put these on
an Enco XY table this is probably all you really need.
