Hi Jon,

There are no nameplates as such on the motors, just paper labels with the
numbers on and the company logos.

The Calcomp ones, which are probably the ones I would choose to use first as
I may just try to get the HP plotter working, are about 1.5" diameter and
2.5" long, plus another 1" for the encoder housing. i.e.1.5" dia x 3.5" long
overall. The encoders have 10 wires coming out as a multicolour ribbon cable
and are coloured brown, red/black, white, red, 4x blacks, red, green. I
haven't tried to follow the circuit yet but I would assume I should be able
to use the drivers on the board somehow (I think its an RS232 interface).
The plotters are the type where the paper hangs down front and back and
rolls back and forth as it plots.
