Tawagawa Seiki steppers

Looks like I'll have to communicate via yahoo group (which strip off
all attachments) until I connect my other computers to the modem.

<Speaking about routers, you were looking for stepper motors for the
router? The Sherline's ARE good motors. And at a good price!>

Background: I'm hunting for motors to replace those Tawagawa Seiki
(correct spelling Tamagawa Seiki) 5 phase steppers or 5 phase stepper
drivers which can drive them.

Anyone on the list will like to offer their brains to be picked for
ideas? I was told that 5 phase steppers have much higher torque than
unipolars and bipolars of similar size, volt, amp, so it may not be
as simple as plugging in a similarly spec.'ed stepper, even if the
mounting holes and "circular centering projection?" (what do the
experts call these, keys?) fits the motor mount, and the shaft
diameter fits the coupler.
