Yes, but....

If there are pauses between segments (one controller came to a dead stop
between every segment!) these can add up. Other controllers will never
reach the programmed feed rate because they are not sure what is coming ahead,
or they can't process the G-code blocks fast enough.

Remaining issues are the acceleration/deceleration at feedrate changes or
direction changes, and how the lookahead handles upcoming discontinuities.
