Art,
I was at Names and watched the different machines run Fred's file. IMO, the
time it takes to run the file is not the issue. If the correct feed rates
are being used, they should all get done at near the same time, shouldn't
they? What was impressive was the smoothness and delays (lack of delays)
between the move segments. Jon Elson's hastily set up EMC and Mr.
Friestand's (spelling incorrect I'm sure) controll/configuration were both
smooth as silk, then Ah Ha was running with very pronounced delays between
moves, then the others followed behind, if I recall correctly.
If there is no perceptable delay between moves then I think that is all that
test will tell you.
I have had to be unavailable lately from this list, but I still try to scan
it and keep up with it generally.

NAMES to test the smoothness and speed of various controllers. Does anyone
know how fast your controllers are on this file?

Asyncrounous pulseing and Trajectory planning. I used this file to test the
system and was wondering just how good a system is supposed to run this. I
get about 5 Minutes 34 seconds for the complete cut and very smooth. I am
curious just how fast other systems can run this, so if your really bored,
let me know.
