Bob, I connected the emergency E-Stop button circuit through the
limit switches to the emergency shutdown relay. The emergency shut
down function kills all the power to the Gecko's and spindle. Hitting
a limit is the same as hitting the E-Stop button. The limit switches
should be wired as normally closed. The computer needs to know when
the shutdown occurred so it can stop the running program so you can
either figure out what happened and provide a shot at controlled
restart and recovery.
