RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Simple DRO sensors - Cheap !

Has anyone found any cheap sensors that can be used to make a home brew dro,

I have followed several dro links and non of the parts are available, unless
purchased from RS at £200 +

As a beginner to Cad Dro , I want to make something really cheap or free, In
the Uk the Amateur Radio Rallies are an excellent source of cheap
electronics , But where can I get cheap Dro sensors, I fancy a pot type
which gives 4000 steps per rev.
I could easily mount this on my late and mill using the wire technique shown
on one of the web sites.
