No floppies needed. Just do cat aaa aab aac aad > emc.tgz
and it will put all 4 pieces into one file. Then, tar xzvf emc.tgz
will uncompress the archive.

The manual might be in the archive, but there should be a copy in html
on the web site :
http://www.nist.gov/public_affairs/guide/melpage.htm
but it doesn't seem to work right now.
