Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] EMC with Stepperworld Parallel Card

Nope, not an ISA card, a standalone step/dir card unipolar driver card. I'm
happy to report that, after Ray calling me at home and offering some
pointers, and some fiddling with parallel bits and wires, I've gotten it
running under EMC Mini on the BDI!!!

My little motors are turning under EMC control! Whooopee! ~grin~

It really does do one's heart good to see that all this stuff can work,
after all. Now I've got WORLDS to learn about machining in general, CNC,
and EMC in particular. I'll try to document things as I go so that I might
be of help to someone in the future, as Ray was to me today.

Ray, if you see this first, I'll call you at some reasonable time later
today (about 12:45 eastern now!) and let you know what I've done.

Anyhow, I'm going to try to outfit my little Atlas Horizontal mill with
these little steppers and learn with that then retrofit a Bridgeport Series
One CNC with EMC, certainly using Gecko drives, possibly retrofitting with
servos instead of the original steppers. That may have to be an upgrade path
one day.

To all on this list - A HEARTY thank you for all the info that is put out
for us newbies. To all that subscribe to the EMC list, I extend the same
thanks.

Take care,
