Gecko drives

on 2001-09-14 18:51:16 UTC
Hi,

I am new to electronics and CNC and is hoping to construct a stepper
motor drive and is trying to decide between a kit like the one
available from hobbycnc, but I hear so much about the Gecko.

For the moment, I am leaning towards the kit from hobbycnc, but I was
told it is unipolar, and it seems that the bipolar drivers are better
or something. But is is convenient, I think, because it include power
supply, limit and home switches, etc.

I know that with the Gecko, one will have to add the power supply,
but what about the home switches and limit switches? How do I get
information and circuit diagrams on how to add the power supply and
home, limit switches for the Gecko?

Thanks

George
