You might also want to look at the kits from Camtronics. They offer two
"three channel" kits. One handles motors that draw up to 2 amps per phase;
the other handles motors that draw up to 5 amps per phase. I built the 2 amp
unit and am quite happy with it. Dan Mauch also offers good support via the
web and shipped my kits promptly (I also bought the DRO kit at the same
time).

What machine are you planning to convert over to CNC?
