With a G210 or G340 (versions with a multiplier board) you can select
whether the common is +5 or ground. Mariss recommend the +5. It is not
as hard as everyone seems to want to make it. Just a wire from the +5
volt line in the computer down to the drive. If this is problem some for
someone then maybe CNC is not the proper hobby as there are definitely
more challenging electrical problems than this in setting up a stepper
installation.

NO, NO, NO, do not swap the board from a G2XX series to a G3X0 series.
Mariss sells the board by themselves for $35 each. They are not
interchangeable. I don't remember the specific voltages, but the G3X0
series uses a different voltage then the G2XX series and a swap would be
a very bad thing.

Have to ask, why would anyone want to cannibalize a G340??
