Hi Dan,
How's things in St. Louis? I'm slowly getting to the point where I'll be
able to get some usable aluminum castings made.
I think a slotting drill is one of those drills with RH & LH teeth which
are used to drill a hole and then it cuts in any direction. It's mostly
used on drywall and thin plywood. I've never heard of them used for
anything else.
I have heard of a milling cutter (LH twist, RH cut) referred to by wood
workers as a slotting drill. It's used to pull the waste up out of the slot
when cutting dadoes and such.
