I know the difference between a "center-cutting" end-mill and one that's not,
and a two-flute and four-flute. But I never heard 'slot drill', before.

I bought 100 PCB-drill- bits (solid-carbide, of course) on e-bay for a very
low price, and was a bit surprised when they arrived: They are clearly
spiral "up-cutting" two-flue mill-bits, with a 140° center-cutting tip, much
like a drill-bit, only "flatter". They drill into FR-4 (that's PCB
fiber-glass epoxy, to those of you who don't know), and can "mill" sideways
very well, like a "router-bit", if turning over 3000 RPM, that is! So, they
are TRULY "slot-cutting drills". They work excellently on aluminum-sheet,
being two-flute. One lives and learns...
