As a side note on the subject,
I do know that FlashCut, using its current chip will actually process short
line segments faster than arcs. Not sure why, but I did notice it first hand
some years back and asked about it. They Confirmed.
FlashCut's new top secret chip, well................. I can't tell you.
A big difference can obviously be seen in the product IF the line segments
are too long. If they are short, I can't see a difference.......
I wonder if Art or one of his purchasers would comment on how Master5 handles
this arc/short segment thing.
My largest file with short line segments is just over 2 meg. 97000 some
lines. No need to drip feed, I think that is only common now on the $15k and
up controls :-)
I don't generally need to edit or change it, as my Cam program did its job.
I guess I would have an issue at some point if I needed to use an undersize
or oversize bit though ! Then again, I don't think we are far off from
FlashCut's 32 bit software release with all of those features that some have
found it to be lacking like radius comp.
