This applies to cutting involute gears, rather than cutting Stepper pulleys.

Although it is stated in some catalogs that the shape is involute.

Most of the stepper pulleys can be cut with a trapezoid shaped tool.
The critical dimensions, are the OD of the blank, The angles of the cutter,
and the width of the tip of the tool, and the depth of the cut. If we can
input the number of teeth, and the pitch, hopefully a program will compute
these values.
