Oooohhhh, my favourite subject! Only one choice, Dolphin Partmaster
CadCam. Excellent 2D cad, IMHO better than all other dedicated 2D Cad
packages.
The Cam system is superb, you don't have to worry about drawing
offset toolpaths and all that nonsense that I have found with other
systems, it does it all for you.
machining functions include:- go-round with tool offset left, right
or centre, using your controllers cutter comp (if you want), finish
allowance in XY & (or) Z, area clear with 'unlimited' islands and
taper walls if required, drilling, tapping, oscillating (ramp)
approach into pockets, helical approach, pre-drill for non-centre
cutting tools. True type font engraving.
If you want to you can import dxf drawings direct into the Cam
package, this was asked for recently by John Stevenson, who posts
here regularly, and is now included as standard (nice one John!).
3D functions include mould rotation, which can be male or female part
with ball nosed cutter automatically compensated for. Merge, uses two
different contours and merges them together.
The system is designed by the many end-users, not by some well
intentioned software guy who thinks he knows what people want!
And best of all, the post processed code needs no mods, send it to
the machine and 'Press Go'.
I'm sure John Stevenson will have some 'screen grabs' that you can
have a look at, over to you John......
