Hi Carl:
Number chain error sounds like an urban myth to me. Possibly it is a
certain bug in a certain program that had an error explained to your friend
as a Number Chain error. This is not something that is DOS specific though,
probably just on the program your friend was using. It sounds like you've
got some sort of Z error caused by software or driver. One of those strange
ones at any rate.
