Try going to the local fastener store listed in the yellow pages. Ask
them for B7 threaded rod. This material has rolled threads which are
infinitely better quality than die cut threads. Then while you're there
ask for 1/4-20 coupling nuts. These nuts are several times longer than a
standard nut and because of this tend to have near zero backlash. Total
cost for a 3ft length of rolled all thread and three coupling nuts will
be about $4.

I am building a unit like the PCB Mill. Its going to use 1/4-20
threaded rod to move the axasis. My question is, Is there a certain
quality rod I should use? Also can I Just make up for the back lash
in my software?
