Just quick on the encoder +5. That terminal on the drive is a source
terminal. It provides the +5 vdc to the encoder. The encoders just hook to
the 4 terminals on the G320 (+5, gnd, A, B). The only concern is that you
don't draw more than 50 ma from this connection. In your case Bill you don't
have to worry as the HED encoders connect just fine. It has been suggested
that you add a .1 uf and a 10 uf cap to the + and gnd right at the encoder
head, but with short wired you can likely get away without.
