I've used the stuff and will be using it for bowling ball inlay work.
There are numerous places to buy the epoxy....I'll have to look some up.
I'm sure I have some in my favorites list.
You can get both acrylic (brittle!) or polyurethane epoxy. Both can be
purchased in clear and can have color added. You can add sand, metal
shavings, glass beads and many other things to the epoxies. Sand works
pretty neat. Just make sure the color additive is compatible with the epoxy
or it may not cure.
You can't keep bubbles from forming but you can eliminate them. Best way is
to use a slow setting epoxy and place the mix in a vacuum chamber prior to
pouring the epoxy. When pouring, pour the material so it flows along a stick
into the mold or cavity to help prevent trapping more bubbles.
