Cyril,
You need to find a "C" ring machine. They make rings that are used like
"hog rings " to join parts. We used them to make corners in wire mesh cages
and such. I gave away an old mechanical one a few weeks back in a clean up
campaign. It was good at cutting and forming 12 ga.( .105") but I am not
sure of the upper limit it had. You need to find someone that has one of
these that can handle 6 ga. ( .192") and most likely you would need to have
one even larger because of the higher shear of the 316. You could get the
wire cheaper in spools and the machine has a straightner built in. You don't
need it as straight as the welding rod so it would save some money not going
through a cut and straighten machine. Look for a place that does wire
forming or check the used machinery shops. It is not a quiet process but it
is fast.
Let me know if I can be of any help.
