temperamental G's

Hi,
I had 2 of the 3 G201A's working in a driver box when I tested them a
short while ago. Without changing anything to these 2 G201A, I
rewired the third one. When I tested them again, all 3 were silent,
including the 2 that were working earlier. I had similar problems
earlier, with the Geckos deciding to go on holiday for no reason
that I know of. A list member (thanks) helpfully suggested that the
3us for the step pulse width was too low, so I reconfigured the step
pulse width to 5us. Still no luck. Since I'm hoping Mariss will soon
conjure up a new toy for all of us to play with, I do not wish to
distract him and hope that someone can provide some insight as to why
the 2 G201A which were working fine earlier can suddenly fall dumb.
The Geckos are fine products as I have another 3 Geckos in another
box which are working fine. It is probably something other than the
Geckos. Is it that the Geckos need a rapidly rising edge for the step
pulse and less rapidly rising step pulse can cause the Geckos to
become temperamental, or Gecko's of different vintage have different
requirements, as the other 3 Geckos are working fine with the same
pulse train?
Many thanks
Peter
