Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking EMC.
I haven't used it so I can't in all fairness compare it.
The point I was making is that at the moment AHHA is ahead of the
game for someone who needs a simple and reliable plug and play system.
Once EMC gets further on and people do more work with it then it will
be a controller to be reckoned with, especially from a cost point of
view. At the moment it's in the hands of people who need to be
programmers first, operators second.
Paul mentions programming moves with it's low level Tcl extensions
but how many people understand that.
As I say when it's available as a bomb proof install and you have no
need to even understand Linux then it will go far but for now there
is a market for a controller to retrofit the aging commercial
machines that need just a bit more than the likes of CNC Pro etc.
