The concept of "indexing" as they are using it simply means to find a way to
"slide" the material thru the machine to a new point and continue cutting.
For example, you could only do this in the direction where you could slide 8'
under the gantry on a 4'x4' machine.

In order to do this you do not need anything special other than a little
ingenuity. You need to have a know location on the machine, a know distance
you will slide the material and also it is then beneficial to place some type
of "mark" or "registration" point in your drawing.

You just cut one half, slide the material the known distance, and cut the
other half of the job.
