The sign and engraving industry calls it "panel-ing"... Lcam from
Larken does it innately, as do most of the cad/cam programs made for
the sign/engraver folks. These programs are generally more expensive
than most of what we talk about here; but worth every penny if you
need to get things done quickly, IMO.
As Chris mentioned, setting up a fence and "drilling" into waste
areas works pretty well for setups that don't support panels directly.
Use your CAD program to "clip" the drawing into panels, and then CAM
the toolpath for each panel individually.
