I'm not sure what you mean. Lots of places sell adapters that you fit to
vertical mills to make them work as horizontal millers. Heck, I've even seen
one for a Sherline somewhere. If you mean a hobby made machine soley for
horizontal milling then no, I haven't seen any either.

Probably because horizontal milling isn't as useful for a hobbyist who's
making things like small engines, models and what not. A vertical mill will
face mill on small scale things well enough for most I guess.

You can find the adapters all over the place. I've not seen any solely
horizontal millers for hobbyists, the Sherline adapter looks close to that
though, but even I can find full size horizontal millers dirt cheap. It
seems that horizontal machines are almost impossible to move, probably
because they're somewhat limited in what they can do. I've seen these
advertised on pricey sites for a few hundred and they've been huge things.

I can only think of something like, pre-milling the T-slots on machine
tables or cutting fluting onto things like rifle barrels. Do you have a
specific need for horizontal milling or is it just out of interest?
