Yup, hi Alan,
Been lurking and working mostly (with the occasional comment). I didn't
realize you were so into computer control until I saw your hobbit in the
photos section. Pretty wild, and nice driver power supply and pendant, as
well!
I'll ask you too: what are your stepper specs, and what's the rating on your
transformers and/or what are you feeding into the Geckos for B+? That is, if
you are using steppers ;-). I want to get a feel for what people are using
to drive their steppers. I've done PID servo designs and thought I'd just
try some _SIMPLE_ stuff with steppers (ha ha) where I would be running
open-loop and not have to worry about tuning the system. Live and learn,
hopefully.
On a different topic, I was thinking that if one wanted to make a G-code
printer-port driver for DOS, one could grab the logic from the EMC C source
code and easily(?) adapt it for that environment. Possibly an alternate
choice for Indexer-LPT if I understand it correctly. Just a thought. Now
back to our regularly scheduled work.
