We did almost all our calculations on the idiot stick from K & E. But when
raising small numbers to large powers we used log tables and Marchant adding
machines to multiply the log of the number by the power, then look up the
anti-log in the tables. You kids have it easy, so remind me to tell you
about walking to school bare foot in deep snow and up hill both ways.
