I'm sure you will get a lot of responses, but you should be able to
get a buck/boost xfmr at your local electrical supply.
110/220 in boost and 55/110 in buck. and for a little more, they
should have +/- leads in case your power if off a little. you should
be able to get it to drop from 55 to 48 pretty easily.
and recently Frank posted message 40963 :
Transformer --- Go to Wal-mart , etc and get EverStarts battery
charger # WM-51A-PE 10 amp $29.00 or their 6 amp one $19.00 Just make
sure the one you use is not the 6/12 volt kind.
Rectifier --- Radio Shack About 5 bucks
Caps --- Electronics Supply Store 10,000 mfd about 10 bucks
This will give around 72 volts output.
