Not necessarily, I have a MallorY (the 'allor' are smaller caps with
a line over them, Trademark?) computer grade capacitor TYPE CGS rated
at 32000 MFD (microfarad) 30VDC right here that is about 15 years
old, and at work we have some computer grade MallorY's rated at 15000
MFD 100VDC that are less than 5 years old. Some manufacturers just
like to stick to the old ways of marking capicitors, and Mallory
seems to like all capitol letters. I've been interested in
electronics for over 35 years (and have both amateur radio and
commercial FCC licenses for over 25 of thoes) and uF, mF, MF, MFD...
have always been interchangeable, at least here in the US.
