Alan,
The G201 has a pair of 0.05 ohm sense resistors, one per phase. They
are 3W non-inductive. The choice of resistor value is based on it
dissipating near rated power at max current (7^2 * .05 = 2.5W). That
works out to 20^2 * 0.01 = 4W for the G320, but unlike the G201, it
will not spend a lot of time at 20A so it is a safe value.
The resistor's power rating is based on full lead length. In our case
the leads are vey short and are heat-sunk to a ground plane equal to
the size of the entire board. This easily adds another 1W to the safe
dissipation.
