Machine control comparison

Has anyone done a comparison/evaluation of the different machine
control software and interface hardware? i.e. Master5, CNCPro,
Deskcam, EMC, Pico Systems, Flashcut, etc.... This is just a few of
the products and there are so many good low end dollar ones out
there, When I say low end I mean under $1000, that a pros and cons
comparison and personal thoughts on them would be helpful to those
(me included) putting a system together.
