Thanks for showing me the photo section. It looks like this rotary
table has lost its ability to become horizontal. That does not
matter, I don't think that this design tried to limit the backlash
that is in these rotary tables.
I just had a thought. I dont know enough about the way a servo works
with its encoder. I know that if the encoder is not recieving it's
signal the motor will just run when I turn on the servo box power.
So somehow the encoder stops the servo motor from turning until a
step is delivered.
What if somehow the encoder was placed on the axis of the rotary
table? Would this cause a problem with the backlash in the table? I
don't know if the servo motor is bouncing back and forth when in a
holding position. If this is so then the motor would be bouncing
back and forth in a greater movement if the encoder was on the table.
Can you see where I'm going with this? I just don't know enough
about the way these servo motors and encoders work.
