Ray,
thinking it may be a good base for the fourth axis.
ballnut travels the total length of the screw (42"). There is slight audible
resonance in one direction when the nut is near the drive, but not much. A
custom made plate mount for the bearings would take that out, I think. A
5/8" dia. would be much different.
