I pulled this off on my machine. Seeing as it's nicely aged & square, I was
thinking it may be a good base for the fourth axis.

The ballscrews in my machine are 1.25" dia (B-port I standard dia.). My
ballnut travels the total length of the screw (42"). There is slight audible
resonance in one direction when the nut is near the drive, but not much. A
custom made plate mount for the bearings would take that out, I think. A
5/8" dia. would be much different.

(@ EMC controlled speed of around 150+ipm. Using just the drive's controller
it gets up to 600ipm. The resonance wasn't much different at that speed, if
I recall correctly. )
