Charles,
Bridgeport drove those motors with 8 amps. The power supplies are good heavy
duty power supplies capable of about 20 amps each. No reason to get rid of
them unless you just want to conserve a little power.
The Microkinetics 8010 half step drivers should work fine with EMC and the
Bridgeport power supplies. I think the main thing in using these drivers is
getting the timing correct in EMC. I have had good results on the Bridgeport
using the 8010 drivers and ahha software. I remember that I had to change
the step signal out put from low = true to high = true for the 8010 drivers.
