G-Code

I have been fooling around with Ace Converter and Desk Engrave And have
found that Desk engrave wont make G-code but if you make dxf file then
convert in ace it works sometimes. although the resultant G-Code has
some moves up 5 inches in the code and will run in ECM the movement of
the machine is no more than .100 through the whole program. Also there's
no place to put tool dia. Does vector have a demo? will it make letters?
