I don't use it but have in the past. Just downloaded a copy and
did the following.

Entered the text in the box

Set the width and height of the letters

clicked "Create" and "Set Parameters" and entered the
revelant parameters

select the font (under the create menu)

click the button on the left with the "F" on it. The text with the
toolpath should show up in the lower window

click "file" and "save as "gcode"

If this is what you did, maybe you got a damaged copy, try downloading
a new version and reloading.

Here are the first 10 lines of the created file for the letter "A" As you
can see there is no G20 in there so EMC will cut in whatever mode it happens
to be in.
