There's a lot of truth to that. The PC has it all: design, graphics of any
sort, conversion from one format to others, machine control, etc. The
machine has little of that. Can program by MDI or even maybe use a simple
geometrical assistant, and that's it. You can buy PCs any day running and
often loaded, cheap! I got a Linux box with 6 gig and 64 mR for $150. Why
buy dedicated control? People who make machine tools these days realize
that too. Chevalier has PC based control. It's cheap, simple and effective.
