Hi Sven,
Two possibilities spring to mind. How about using a coil to couple to the
furnace's electronics inductively and putting the output of this coil
through a frequency divider to get it down to frequency you can measure - it
will reduce the accuracy quite a bit, but I don't suppose the furnace will
mind the frequency being a little off the mark. The other possibility is
using a second frequency source to compare with - feed both frequencies into
a comparator and watch for the beat frequency. This will be far more
accurate than the first idea. Isn't 1,3MHz somewhere in the radio band -
perhaps you could just tune in a radio nearby until you hear the
whistle.......
