As a former HP Pavilion owner, I must concur. Production systems are seldom
built for compatability (especially HP and Compaq) and will work as long as
you do NOTHING to it. I gutted my HP and only use the monitor, KB and case.
No more problems.
These days, I'll only build with ASUS MBs and standard I/O like Sound
Blasters and GEforce video.
Buy a pre-built system and you get someone else's idea of what's right.
Rarely is it the right solution for me.
